Hello! I'm Sahar and I live in Islamabad, Pakistan.
I love food. I love to bake, cook and eat food. Also I have the sweetest of sweet tooths. So I may get carried away when writing about dessert.
I decided to start Chai + Cake to keep track of all the cooking and baking I do and to share my recipes, the tried and tested ones as well as the ones I create myself.
I generally love to cook but baking is really where my heart is. It all started with a chocolate cake made in the microwave.
We didn't have a great oven back then, I was 11 maybe, and my mom made this great chocolate cake from a microwave cookbook she had. After that I was just hooked. I first tried to make that cake myself and that was all I baked for a while. It was quite popular too. Then I gradually branched out, experimenting with cakes and cookies and breads, making so many mistakes along the way, getting disheartened, trying again and learning many lessons the hard way. I am still learning but I have gotten to this point where I feel confident enough to write a food blog and dare to come up with my own recipes.
Oh and I'm a caffeine junkie, mostly a tea/chai junkie. I love coffee too but's there's something so comforting and calming about a big mug of tea... When I'm feeling bad about consuming too much caffeine the I'll switch to green tea or peppermint tea... But there must always be tea!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy my blog :)
